What applies to every vertical
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — GDPR
Consumption data of a household is personal data: the platform isolates data per tenant, logs access in an audit trail and applies the retention rules set by the controller.
Directive (EU) 2022/2555 — NIS2
Water and energy are essential sectors: whoever runs networks and metering must demonstrate security measures and incident handling. Token authentication, TLS, logs and tenant separation are part of the answer.
Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 — Data Act
Since September 2025 users of a connected product have the right to access the data it generates and to share it with third parties. Per-tenant APIs with documented data contracts make the obligation practical.
Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 — Cyber Resilience Act
Security requirements for products with digital elements across the whole life cycle: the platform tracks device firmware and versions and exposes no unauthenticated surface.
