Remote gas meter reading, from volume to validated data
EnerSync collects readings from gas smart meters and volume correctors, brings them to standard conditions and turns them into consumption, thresholds and browsable alarms: data ready for billing and downstream systems, through dashboard and API.
01 — What it solves
Real consumption, not estimates
Daily and hourly readings
Totalisers and hourly profiles from every meter reached by the network: actual consumption per delivery point, history per meter, no more estimated readings.
Volumes corrected to standard conditions
From measured volume to corrected volume (Sm³) with the corrector pressure and temperature or a conventional coefficient: the figure you bill on, with its traceability.
Contractual thresholds and alarms
Committed daily capacity, exceedances, anomalous consumption, stalled meter, battery and tampering: browsable, notifiable events, not lines in a log.
02 — How it works
How it works
01
Gas smart meters and correctors
Smart meters with a radio module and volume correctors on industrial points, from different vendors, registered as devices with their master data and delivery point.
02
Collection network
169 MHz radio network with concentrators, point-to-point modems or the distributor system: transport is independent from the data.
03
Normalisation and correction
Vendor telegrams are aligned to the same data contract; volume is brought to standard conditions and every sample keeps both raw and corrected values.
04
Dashboard, billing, API
Consumption, thresholds and alarms in the dashboard for operators and customers; validated metering data for billing and through the API for ERP and billing systems.
03 — Specifications
Under the hood
- Devices
- Gas smart meters (UNI/TS 11291) and volume correctors; multi-vendor, one data contract for the vertical
- Networks
- 169 MHz radio with concentrators, point-to-point GPRS/NB-IoT, distributor data flows
- Data
- Totalisers, hourly and daily profiles, measured and corrected volume (Sm³), corrector pressure and temperature, events and alarms
- Integration
- REST API /v1/gas: meters, readings per period, events; billing and settlement data
04 — Regulation and obligations
Gas regulation pushes towards remote reading
ARERA, Resolution 631/2013/R/gas
Gas smart metering: installation obligations for smart meters by meter class and functional requirements, with remote reading as the baseline.
UNI/TS 11291
Technical specification for gas measuring systems with advanced functions: architecture, protocols and security of smart meters.
Italian D.Lgs. 102/2014
Frequent billing information based on actual consumption: without remote reading, estimates and settlements remain.
ARERA, TIVG
Integrated text on gas sales: billing on validated metering data made available within the set deadlines.
Indicative references, current at publication date: they do not replace a regulatory check for your case.
05 — Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions on gas metering
Can I use the meters I already have?
Yes, if they are smart meters with a radio module or points with a queryable volume corrector. The platform is multi-vendor: telegrams from different manufacturers are normalised to the same data contract.
How do you compute the corrected volume?
With the corrector pressure and temperature where present, otherwise with the conventional coefficient of the point: every sample keeps measured volume, corrected volume and the parameters used.
Can I set contractual thresholds?
Yes: committed daily capacity and hourly thresholds per point, with an alarm on exceedance and a summary of exceedances over the period.
How do I get the data into billing?
Through the REST API with per-tenant tokens: validated readings and corrected volumes per period, ready for billing on actual consumption.
